Tom Mockus, RN

Tom Mockus, RN, is the Director of Medical and Rehabilitation Services at the MDI Hospital. As Director, Mr. Mockus is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Inpatient Units and Cardiopulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation.

Upon receiving his Associates Degree in Nursing from Quincy College and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 2000, Mr. Mockus worked in a variety of medical positions including; Orderly, Dietary Aide, Dialysis Tech and Critical Care Unit RN. With his experience at other medical facilities, Tom has come to enjoy the core values at MDI Hospital.

Greg Corrow

Greg Corrow is the Director of Physical Plant Services. His position requires him to be ‘a man that wears many hats’, as his responsibilities include Nutrition Services, Engineering, Environmental Services, Laundry, Security and Safety Officer and Project Manager.

Prior to coming to Mount Desert Island Hospital, Mr. Corrow worked at the Adirondack Medical Center in New York for fifteen years. While at The Adirondack Medical Center, Mr. Corrow was the heating and ventilation specialist before becoming Director of Facilities.

Mark White

Mark White, Director of Information Technology, is responsible for overseeing the Help Desk Team, Systems Administration Team and all the supporting hardware at Mount Desert Island Hospital. Mr. White is currently trying to promote new technological advances at MDI Hospital, including a new ElectronicHealth Records system. Mr. White has been a part of the Mount Desert Island Hospital family for the past four years.

Mr. White graduated with an Associates Degree from the University of Maine, and has worked in the computer field since 1989, most specifically the medical industry for the past sixteen years. Prior to working at the MDI Hospital, Mr. White worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center for eleven years and DeVenture Health Partners for two years.

Joanne Harris

Joanne Harris, Director of Human Resources, is responsible for all human resource functions including recruitment, wage and salary administration, compensation and benefits, employee relations and staff development along with overseeing the employee wellness program.

After receiving her BA in Government at Florida State University in 1972, Joanne has gained over thirty years of experience in her human resource career. In those thirty years Ms. Harris served as the Employment Manager at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, and for over 25 years served as the Human Resources Director at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor. Ms. Harris brings her wealth of experience to MDI Hospital community.

I am proud of the good work we do not only in caring for patients who need care but in the outreach programs intended to keep our island community healthy.”

Joanne Harris
Martha Nordstrom

Martha Nordstrom is the Director of Philanthropy and Public Affairs. Ms. Nordstrom oversees four employees whose goal collectively is to raise funds and friends for the hospital. Under her guidance, the Philanthropy and Public Affairs Department produces appeal letters, thank you letters, press releases, newsletters, invitations and informational pieces. The department also manages fundraising and marketing campaigns, plans and produces advertising, coordinates events, runs the hospital’s volunteer program and maintains the hospitals website.

After receiving her BA from New School for Social Research in New York City in 1973, Ms. Nordstrom started her career in journalism and then eventually left that career to raise her two children. When reentering the work force, journalism jobs were disappearing and almost by accident, Ms. Nordstrom landed in the fundraising realm.

“I have found that journalism and fundraising for non profits have much in common. Both careers involve lots of communications with people, both written and oral. Both give one the opportunity to visit living rooms, ask questions and learn more about people. And both have at their core a desire to improve the world. I’m in awe of people who have the power to save lives. Here, I work with them every day.”

Martha Nordstrom
Leanne Linscott RTR (M)

Leanne Linscott, Director of Medical Imaging, oversees the everday functions of the Medical Imaging Department, including X-Ray, CT scans, untrasound, nuclear medicine, and the Breast Center. Her responsibilities also include the bedgetary process, implementing new technology, and the installation of new equipment.

Leanne received her Associates of Applied Sciences from Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1980. She began her career as a Staff Technologist and Nuclear Medicine Technologist at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. In 1983, Ms. Linscott joined MDI Hospital as a Mammographer,. In 1984 she became the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine and, in 1999 moved into the role of Director of Medical Imaging.

Chip Dugans

Ernest “Chip” Dugans, director of Physical Therapy, is responsible for managing the daily operations and overseeing the patient care in both out patient and swing bed sittings for both Mount Desert Hospital and the Community Health Center in Southwest Harbor.

Chip graduated from Husson University, with a master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2001. He has experience working in skilled nursing facilities in both the Bangor and Bar Harbor area. He has also worked extensively in clinical areas such as brain injury rehabilitation, sports medicine, acute and skilled hospital settings and out patient clinics. Chip’s knowledge and experience has made him a perfect fit as director for our Physical Therapy department.

Sheila Pierson-Roy

As MDI Hospital's Director of Physician Practices Sheila Pierson-Roy administers the Hospital’s primary care and specialty practices.  

She received a BS in Management, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and a Masters in Business Administration from Franklin Pierce University. Pierson-Roy brings to her new position over twenty years experience in health care practice administration.

Aimee Walls, RN

Aimee Walls is the Director of Care Management.

Her responsibilities include overseeing the Coagulation Clinic, Diabetes Clinic, Discharge Planning, Social Services and Community Wellness. Aimee is also currently developing programs for the community and local businesses in conjunction with the community wellness educator. Aimee is very knowledgeable in nursing, education and human services.

In 1981 Aimee received her associate’s degree in Human Services from the University of Maine. In 1983 she received her bachelor’s degree in Education, and in 1993 she earned her other bachelor’ degree in Nursing. Along with her education Aimee has had over ten years experience in health care.

Before Aimee started working for MDI Hospital she worked for a local nursing home. For the past nine years, Aimee has worked for MDI Hospital; her first position at the hospital was a Med/Surg Nurse along with working part time as a Care Manager. Eventually the Care Manager position expanded into a full time job which helped Aimee transition into her role as Director.
