Laboratory Services

The MDI Hospital’s Laboratory offers a full range of laboratory services performed on state-of-the art equipment by certified and registered staff. Nearly a quarter of a million tests are performed annually at MDI Hospital.

The Laboratory is linked through a courier system serving the Hospital and Health Centers offering year-round service for transporting specimens, supplies and reports. Most routine test results are available within 24 hours. Inpatient facilities and Health Centers are linked electronically with our information system to expedite test ordering and reporting.

The MDI Hospital’s Laboratory is located in the main Hospital building and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays to meet outpatient, inpatient and emergency needs.
