Manager, Patient Access

Full time, benefit eligible position. Must be willing to cover day and night shifts as necessary. The Patient Access Manager provides leadership and guidance to the patient access staff on a daily basis at MDIH. In this role they would be responsible for the daily supervision of departmental staff and operation of the various patient access functions at MDIH which include registration, receptionist area, assigned personnel, Insurance Verification, and Point of Service Collections. The Patient Access Manager also acts as a vital member of the Revenue Cycle Team to assure all Patient Access policies/procedures are consistent with established best practices. ADVANCEMENT

Advancement Assistant

Full time 40 hours per week. Provides administrative and clerical support for the Office of Advancement and assists in all of the Organization’s fundraising, marketing and public relations efforts. BREAST HEALTH CENTER

Per Diem Mammographer

Responsible for preparing and positioning patients for exams, knowing the operation of all diagnostic equipment and producing radiographs of acceptable quality to ensure that the examination/procedure is complete and ready for radiographic interpretation. This position is also responsible for the care of the patient while in his/her charge, and shall be able to assess the ongoing condition of the patient and call for any needed assistance. Patient population encompasses all age groups and medical/surgical diagnoses. Education, Training or Certifications Required: Licensed Maine Radiographer. ARRT advanced standing exam in Mammography is required. Additional training in computer use and word processing preferred but not required. CARDIAC REHABILITATION

Cardiac Rehabilitation RN -Per Diem

Per diem, day shift. Provides care and implements nursing process for patients in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase I and Phase II program. Responsible for administering therapy to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of cardiac system. Performs diagnostic tests of cardiovascular system to aid physician in diagnosis and treatment of heart disorders. The nurse will assume responsibility for the complete care of the assigned patients during assigned shifts; emphasis will be toward assessment planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of care. This RN will have specialized training in Cardiac Rehab and be ACLS certified. To meet with patient needs, nurses will integrate with many of the ancillary/support departments including respiratory, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, and cardiology. The Cardiac Rehab RN communicates with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology; is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities. Education, Training or Certifications Required: Current Maine licensure as a registered professional nurse. CPR Provider status and ACLS (within 6 months). Critical Care RN

Full Time Nights. Responsible for direct total nursing care of patients including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within the policies and procedures standard in the Critical Care Unit. The CCS RN will plan and deliver care for acute adult and geriatric medical and surgical patients, coronary patients, and in rare cases, infant, pediatric and adolescent patients. The CCU RN will provide after hours post-anesthesia recovery care. The Telemetry RN will provide care for those patients assigned to his/her unit. The CCS RN will maintain skills in detection and management of all aspects of intensive care, including use of specialized equipment and procedures. Education Requirements: Current Maine licensure as a registered professional nurse. CPR Provider Status. Critical Care/Code Blue Course. ACLS and PALS within one year of hire (TNCC, CCRN, NALS encouraged). Cross trained and float capable to CCU and Recovery (or as assists as capable departments in need) during ED non-peak seasons. Hospitalist PA

Per Diem with potential permanent hours. Assists the Physician Hospitalist in the provision of high quality care within the scope of the Hospitalist Service and as delegated by the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program or the Physician assigned as the Hospitalist during the service hours of the Hospitalist PA. Under the auspices of the Hospitalist Scope will include but is not limited to: The provision quality health care in the Hospital, including Inpatient, Observation, SwingBed and Emergency Departments, in keeping with community values and as outlined in the Hospital Mission Statement, Policies and Procedures and Standards; Within the limits of the provider's employment contract, the provider is responsible to provide medical services, including (but not limited to) history and physical examinations, patient/family education, diagnosing and treating presenting ailments, provision of emergency interventions, consultations and discharge summaries. Under the supervision of the Clinical Applications Manager, the EMR Application Analyst is responsible for support and continuous improvement of EMR applications for the Mount Desert Island Hospital and Health Centers. Applications Analyst develops time lines and meets all data requirements for state, federal and regulatory agencies. Serves as a liaison between the Hospital/Health Centers and the Information Technology Department. Is an active participant on the EMR Steering Committee and other committees when applicable. Education, Training or Certifications: Bachelor's Degree Experience Required: Degree in IT sector preferred but not required and/or prior experience in healthcare environment, 3-5 years; Prior experience supporting clinical information systemes preferred by not required; Experience with personal computers, 2-3 years

Clinical Information Systems Specialist

Full-time. The Clinical Computer Systems specialist utilizes knowledge to devise and implement a clinical information system of all clinical areas of MDI hospital including nursing, lab, radiology, PT/OT and pharmacy. Provides support, training and coordination to employees. Provides coordination in the formulation of the contents of an EHR. Computerizes all policies. Education Required: BSN or other relevant health care bachelor degree; Current Maine RN license; Experience with patient care or Nursing informatics with certificate preferred; CPR provider status. Director of Laboratory Services

Full time benefits eligible position. Responsible for the clinical direction of the Laboratory including all day-to-day operational issues.  Ensures compliance with Federal, State and other regulations.  Performs clinical laboratory procedures as needed to ensure efficient daily workflow and as required to maintain own competency. Education, Training or Certifications Required: 1. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university or 10 years experience and successful completion of an accredited Medical Technologist program. Master's preferred in related field.  2. Licensure: MT, ASCP or equivalent. Experience Required: Three to five years of supervisory experience in an accredited laboratory. Previous clinical experience required.

MEDICAL IMAGING

Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Full time 40 hours per week. Multi-modality X-ray and or CT. Rotating X-ray call on weekends. Willing to cross train into CT if not already trained. Potential to work later shifts if needed. 3 days in NM, 2 days in X-ray/CT. Pay based on modality. Mixes/prepares appropriate agents, maintains the "Hot Lab." Orders and logs radio nuclides and prepares and positions patients and performs exams. Coordinates exams, injections etc. with appropriate in-house personnel and the Radiologist.  This position is also responsible for the care of the patient while in his/her charge, and shall be able to assess the ongoing condition of the patient and call for any needed assistance. Patient population encompasses all age groups and medical/surgical diagnoses. Education, Training or Certifications Required: Licensed Maine Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Licensed Maine Radiologic Tectnologist. ARRT (R)(N) or ARRT (R) and CNMT. Experience Required: Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program. Completion of an accedited Radiologic Technology program. Three or more years experience in Nuclear Medicine and Radiography with CT training preferred, but not required.

Per Diem Radiographer

Working in the main Medical Imaging department and at our Southwest Harbor Clinic. Radiographers are responsible for preparing and positioning patients for exams, knowing the operation of all diagnostic equipment and producing radiographs of acceptable quality to ensure that the examination/procedure is complete and ready for radiographic interpretation. This position is also responsible for the care of the patient while in his/her charge, and shall be able to assess the ongoing condition of the patient and call for any needed assistance. Patient population encompasses all age groups and medical/surgical diagnoses. Education, Training or Certifications Required: Licensed Maine Radiographer. National certification or additional experience in CT Scan, Mammography and/or Ultrasound preferred but not required. Experience Required: Completion of an accredited program in Radiography. Two years or more of experience in Radiography preferred but not required. ARRT certification required. Phlebotomy skills a plus, willingness to learn a must. Willing to take call on weekends if needed.

Per diem Ultrasonographer

Produces and evaluates ultrasound images and related data. Is able to function with minimal supervision. Shall assist clinicians/radiologists with ultrasound guided procedures. Education, Training or Certifications Required: Minimum -- registry eligible (will become RDMS in two years or RDMS in one specialty). Preferred -- RDMS in two specialties. Experience Required: Minimum -- successfully completed one year work/training in ultrasound resulting in certification in sonography. Preferred two years training experience. Preferred -- training in an accredited sonography program.
