New Circle of Care Jewelry Series by Local Jeweler Tegan Curry
Give the gift of health this season with these unique, limited-edition local pieces!
Local jewelry designer and maker Tegan Curry has created three pieces as a unique, custom collection that will help to raise funds and awareness for MDI Hospital and Health Centers. “This project is an exciting way to help the community grow, and support our hospital,” said Tegan. “With the help of anyone who purchases one of these three designs, this project will bring good things to grow our Hospital, and benefit those who need our help.”
Her limited edition jewelry series echoes the Hospital’s Circle of Care, a continuous circle that represents the interconnectedness of the Mount Desert Island community and a connection to nature, health and wholeness. Handcrafted of sterling silver, the series includes a pendant with a peridot accent, a larger, more masculine pendant on a leather cord and a set of earrings. With a strong relation to objects from nature, Tegan’s jewelry often mimics plants, the ocean, and coastal Maine living.
Tegan grew up in Bar Harbor, and has built her jewelry company over the past 12 years, selling her wares at local stores across Mount Desert Island. She attended Maine College of Art, and graduated with a BFA in metalsmithing in 2003.
