MDI Hospital’s Palliative Care Committee and College of the Atlantic (COA) are pleased to present a special screening of “Death Makes Life Possible,” from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 in the Deering Common building at COA in Bar Harbor.

The documentary features social anthropologist and researcher Marilyn Schlitz and popular health guru Deepak Chopra. “Death Makes Life Possible” is not just a film, but a global campaign to redefine death and transform fear into an inspiration for living and dying well.

The film is a journey into the meaning of death and features people who are actually being confronted with their own death. It considers various cultural perspectives on death and contains interviews with mental health experts, cultural leaders and scientists – all who explore the meaning of death and how we can learn to live without fear. The innocence of children who were interviewed also provides great insights.

Following the screening, facilitator Enoch Albert of MDI Hospital’s Palliative Care Committee will lead discussion and conversation.
