Bass Harbor boy is MDI’s first born of 2012

January 6, 2012

Maggie Menzietti of Bass Harbor is the proud mother of the 2012 New Year’s baby at Mount Desert Island Hospital. Her son, Jake, was born on Jan. 4, 2012.

In celebration of the arrival of the first baby of the year, mother and child were presented with a collection of gifts donated from area residents and businesses including handmade items, gift certificates, clothing, diapers, toys, blankets and more.

Jake has a 14 year old sister, Tia, and 4 year old brother, Mason, who chose the name, Jake, for his brother in appreciation of the character in the movie Monsters, Inc. Menzietti, who is a longtime nursing assistant at Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living Center in Bar Harbor, said she is grateful for all the support she has received from the hospital and her physician, Michael Heniser, DO, and the obstetrics nurses. “I also would like to say a big thank you to Tony and LeighAnne for all of their help they have given me,” she said.
