Care philosophy:

“Psychotherapy is a commitment to change, to work collaboratively with a psychologist to ease one’s emotional and physical suffering and to improve the quality of one’s life and relationships. Psychological pain may have its origin in many different areas of one’s life including genetic predisposition, chronic physical illnesses, life stressors and transitions.”

Dr. Kate Mulrenin specializes in psychology. Her medical interests and expertise include Behavioral Medicine and Psychotherapy. Dr. Mulrenin has published work on PTSD treatment and psychospiritual development. She appreciates practicing on Mount Desert Island because it gives her the opportunity to work with like-minded healthcare professionals who believe in providing integrated mental health services. In her free time, Dr. Mulrenin likes to spend time with her yellow lab, Willa Mae, whom she will assure you can catch a Frisbee better than anyone, canine or human.
