Healthcare continuing education professionals play a critical role in strengthening the healthcare workforce. Their commitment to lifelong learning not only supports professional growth, but also contributes directly to improved patient outcomes and more connected care teams.

This year, we are especially proud to share that the Maine Medical Association is highlighting one of MDI Hospital’s own. Ann Worrick, Medical Education Program Coordinator, is being recognized for her 12 years of dedication to advancing medical education at MDI Hospital. Her leadership in initiatives such as the annual statewide educational conference with UPenn and the expansion of hybrid learning opportunities has broadened access to education and strengthened collaboration across care teams.

We are seeing an increase in Influenza A (flu) cases in our community over the past several weeks. Taking a few simple precautions can help protect yourself, your family, and those most at risk of serious illness. 😷

Please help reduce the spread of flu by keeping the following in mind and encouraging friends and family members to do the same:
-Be aware of symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, or fatigue
-Stay home and avoid close contact with others if you are feeling unwell
-Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands often with soap and water
-Cover your coughs and sneezes and consider wearing a mask if you are sick or around others who may be vulnerable
