National Nurses Week 2026 runs from Wednesday, May 6, through Tuesday, May 12, concluding on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. This year’s theme, “The Power of Nurses” highlights the vital role nurses play in shaping patient care, strengthening healthcare systems, and improving lives in meaningful ways.

This celebration feels especially meaningful as we recognize our team under our unified brand, MDI Health, which reflects the full scope of care we provide across Mount Desert Island and beyond. Our nurses are at the heart of that mission. Whether they are providing hands-on care, supporting families, educating future healthcare professionals, or expanding access to services across our community, their impact is felt every single day.
