Donna Wiegle of Swan’s Island, six miles offshore where a medical emergency can mean waiting until the first morning ferry, was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in 2016.
She has endured more than 30 hospitalizations and continues to defy the odds today. This year, she celebrated nine years since her diagnosis.
“I believe the care I received, and still receive at MDI Hospital, is a big part of why I’m still here,” she shared.
