Barbara Hannon, RN, MSN, M.Ed. Hired as MDI Hospital’s New VP of Clinical Services

Barbara Hannon, RN, MSN, M.Ed. has been hired as MDI Hospital’s new Vice President of Clinical Services. In her new role, Ms. Hannon oversees all clinical services for the Hospital and its eight health centers.

After receiving her nursing degree from Boston College in 1969, Ms. Hannon served as Head Nurse of the Critical Care Unit at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina and as a nurse educator for Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In 1984, Ms. Hannon received her Master of Education degree from the University of Maine.

From 1985 to 1996, she was the sole proprietor of Eastern Health Placement in Bangor, Maine, a physician and nurse recruitment firm with hospital contracts in seventeen states.

Between 1996 and 1999 Ms. Hannon served as Supervisor and Nurse Manager of Medical, Surgical, and Oncology departments at Metro West Medical Center in Framingham, Massachusetts.

From 1999 to 2007, she worked as Director of Utilization Management, Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President of Patient Care Services, and Interim Nurse Administrator at hospitals in Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

Having received her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from St. Joseph College of Maine in 2008, Ms. Hannon joined MDI Hospital as the new Vice President of Clinical Services.
