The Future of Medicine Topic of Hospital Presentation

Learn how technology will keep us one step ahead of diseases and disorders in a fascinating presentation by  William Hanson, MD, author of “The Edge of Medicine: The Technology That Will Change Our Lives.”

This event, sponsored by Mount Desert Island Hospital, will be held Wednesday, July 28 from 6pm to 7:30pm at the College of the Atlantic’s Gates Auditorium.

William Hanson, MD will present a fascinating look at the future of medicine during a July 28th presentation sponsored by MDI Hospital at the College of the Atlantic.

Dr. Hanson will offer a revealing look at amazing technology that will drive the future of medicine, from proton beams to mind-reading brain chips.

Dr. Hanson is the Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.

In 2008, he published The Edge of Medicine: The Technology That Will Change Our Lives, a non-fiction book profiling innovations in biotechnology that are changing the delivery of medical care and the ways in which they’re altering the human experience.

He is also the author of Healthcare Informatics, a primer on computers for healthcare professionals, and Procedures in Critical Care, a “visual atlas” of critical care treatments as well as an editor of the The Intensive Care Unit Manual.
