Mount Desert Island Hospital Community Health Education is offering a class in Cooking With Superfoods on June 26 from 6-7 pm. The class is free and is intended for individuals who have been diagnosed with diabetes or have been identified as pre-diabetic.
Superfoods such as spinach, blueberries, quinoa, beets and more are rich in antioxidants, heart-healthy, and can help manage diabetes-related conditions. This class will show how easy it is to incorporate these tasty, healthy ingredients into your everyday diet.
This program is being held at the Malvern-Belmont Community Kitchen and advanced registration is required. For more information and to register, contact Community Health Educator Kathy Mulligan at 288-5082 ext. 1624 or email her at kathy.mulligan@mdihospital.org.
