Beginning in January 2026, MDI Hospital’s Emergency Department is directly accessible ONLY via Wayman Lane. There is no longer direct vehicle and pedestrian access via Hancock Street.
Should you arrive at the MRI Entrance or the Wayman Lane Main Entrance during regular business hours, someone will be there to assist you, but for direct emergency care and access, please follow exterior signage and go directly to the ED or call 911.
The Wayman Lane Main Entrance and the MRI Entrance are locked in the evening and on the weekend. Our Emergency Department is open 24/7, so if you arrive at night or on the weekend, it is important to present to that entrance, again, as the Main Entrance and MRI doors will be locked.
