Dr. Edward J. Benz, Jr.

Dr. Edward J. Benz, Jr. is President and CEO Emeritus of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and an internationally recognized hematologist. Dr. Benz has enjoyed a distinguished career in academic medicine, and authored over 300 peer-reviewed books, articles, reviews, chapters, and abstracts. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1973 and received his training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Boston, the National Institutes of Health, and the Yale University School of Medicine. In addition to serving as President and CEO Emeritus of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Dr. Benz is also Director Emeritus and Principal Investigator of Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, a member of the Governing Board of Dana-Farber/Children’s Cancer Center, a Richard and Susan Smith Distinguished Professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, a clinical hematologist and an active NIH-funded investigator.
