Birch Bay Village is proud to recognize Marc Woolfolk, Life Enrichment Assistant, as the 2026 Birch Bay Village Employee of the Year.
Presented annually during the organization’s Employee Picnic, the Employee of the Year Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies Birch Bay Village’s values and unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of residents.
Working in memory care calls for compassion, creativity, adaptability, and a deep commitment to person-centered care. Every day offers new opportunities to build meaningful relationships and support each resident in ways that honor their unique strengths, preferences, and life experiences. Marc has earned the admiration of residents, families, and colleagues alike by approaching every interaction with kindness, respect, and genuine human connection, helping each resident feel valued, understood, and at home.
Marc’s nomination was supported by several colleagues from across Birch Bay Village, each sharing stories of the remarkable impact he has on residents and the team. Together, they described Marc as someone who brings humor, humility, and a calming presence to every interaction, creating an environment where residents feel safe, valued, and truly seen.
As a Life Enrichment Assistant, Marc goes far beyond leading activities. He takes the time to learn what brings each resident joy and purpose, creating meaningful experiences through music, art, conversation, baking, Tai Chi, and countless moments of one-on-one connection. His nominators shared stories of Marc reading scripture to a resident who was blind and hard of hearing, comforting those who are anxious, and simply being present when someone needs a friend. Families regularly express their appreciation for the care and compassion he provides, knowing their loved ones are in capable and caring hands.

Marc is also known as a dependable teammate who is always willing to lend a hand, whether assisting another department, transporting residents, installing lifeline systems, or simply stepping in wherever he is needed. His colleagues describe him as someone they can always count on, bringing calm, encouragement, and positivity to even the busiest days.
Marc’s dedication to serving others, his commitment to continual growth, and the genuine relationships he builds every day make him an outstanding representative of Birch Bay Village and a truly deserving recipient of this year’s Employee of the Year Award.
