Maine tick season is upon us – be aware of the signs and symptoms and talk to your primary care office if you exhibit any symptoms or are concerned about a bite.
While Lyme Disease is the most well known illness that causes the bullseye rash, chills and fever, joint and muscle pain, among others – Anaplasmosis and Babesiosis also cause things like fever, headaches, sweats, chills, and breathing issues. Additional symptoms include:
Lyme Disease Symptoms
- Expanding “bullseye” rash
- Chills and fever
- Joint and muscle pain
- Fatigue
- Stiff neck
Anaplasmosis Symptoms
- High fever and shivering
- Severe headache
- Muscle aches
- Cough and breathing problems
Babesiosis Symptoms
- Extreme fatigue
- Sweats and chills
- Headaches and aches
- Shortness of breath
