October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, support those affected by domestic violence, and remind our community that help is available.

If you or someone you know is struggling, there are resources available locally and throughout Maine:
🧠 MDI Health Behavioral Health Center: The MDI Behavioral Health Center in Bar Harbor provides confidential, supportive mental health and co-occurring services, including individual therapy and SPACE (parent based therapy), adolescent therapy, trauma therapy, psychiatric comprehensive evaluation and medication management, and more. Visit the MDI Health website to learn more or contact your primary care provider for a referral.
📱 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 for free, confidential support during a mental health or suicide crisis.
📞 211 Maine: Call 211 for free, confidential help finding health and community resources throughout Maine.
🚨 Emergency Services: If you are experiencing a medical emergency or are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Room.

You are not alone. 💜 Reaching out for support can be an important first step, and help is available.
