Community invited to grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration at 4 p.m.
MDI Health invites community members to celebrate the grand opening of MDI Hospital’s new Main Entrance on Monday, November 23, at 4 p.m. The celebration will take place at the new entrance off Main Street and will include brief remarks, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the new space, and light refreshments.
Made possible by the Building Our Future Campaign, the new Main Entrance first opened to patients on October 19. With an accessible arrival space, covered passenger drop-off, registration just inside, and a bright, comfortable waiting area, it provides a welcoming front door for patients and visitors.
“This entrance represents so much more than a new space,” said Chrissi Maguire, President and CEO of MDI Health. “It reflects the care this community has for one another and a shared commitment to the future of our hospital. We are deeply grateful to everyone who believed in this vision and helped bring it to life, and we look forward to celebrating together.”
The celebration will honor all who made this milestone possible: Building Our Future Campaign donors, whose generosity is modernizing the hospital campus and strengthening local healthcare; the MDI Health Board of Trustees, whose planning guided the project; employees, volunteers, and community partners, who shared their time and talents; and construction manager Landry/French and architecture firm SMRT, who designed and built the new entrance.
The Main Entrance is a key phase of MDI Health’s Campus Improvement Project, which also includes expansion of the Emergency Department, improvements to interior navigation, and a new dedicated Emergency Entrance and covered ambulance bay. Construction will continue in phases, with the new Emergency Department expected to open in early 2028.
