Melissa has over 30 years in healthcare; 27 years as a registered nurse and 3 ½ years as a Nurse Practitioner. Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, Melissa graduated from Dalhousie University in 1992 with a BScN, then from Simmons University in 2019 with a MSN FNP. She has lived and worked in Texas, Maryland and North Carolina and returned to the Northeast to be closer to family and make a home in beautiful Maine. She brought her husband, Ed, 19 year old son, Jesse and 9 year old dog, Bailey with her. Her 22 year old son, Christian is at the Coast Guard Academy in New London CT.  Melissa loves the outdoors, hiking, running, swimming and skiing in the past. She is looking forward to all that Maine has to offer.

She is very excited to bring her holistic experience to her daily practice here at the MDI Community Center in Southwest Harbor.
