Mount Desert Island Hospital has announced the hiring of Stacy Brown as its new Director of Fiscal Services. She replaces Brad Perkins who is now the Hospital’s Vice President of Finance.
Prior to joining MDI Hospital she served as Finance Director at Downeast Health Services in Ellsworth for three years and as the Business Manager for the Regional Medical Center in Lubec for ten years.
In her new position, Ms. Brown supervises a staff of eight people and oversees budgeting, reimbursement and accounting functions for the Hospital, including payroll and accounts payable. She is also in charge of the Materials Management department, which is the purchasing arm of the Hospital.
Her responsibilities include the preparation of financial statements for the Board of Trustees’ Finance Committee and cost reports for Medicaid and Medicare, along with various other reporting and financial analysis duties.
“I like the culture of MDI Hospital,” said Ms. Brown. “It feels more like a family environment than a corporation. I’m also impressed with the level of training and the team approach to strategic planning.”

Ms. Brown lives in Lamoine with her husband and two daughters.
